Functional vs. Decorative
Functional window treatments serve the purpose of privacy, light-blockage, temperature, privacy and style. Full coverage with window treatments helps you feel safe and sound in your home. In several cases, light-filtering or room darkening window treatments help reduce brightness and glare. This is typically achieved by using a room darkening liner on either an outside mount drapery or roman shade. For drafty windows, often in older homes, thermal lining can be applied to help keep heat stay inside when you need it the most.
Decorative window treatments have more to do with the look of a room and the sense of style you seek to convey. Selecting the perfect pattern, color and style are all part of the decorating experience. We’re happy to help you with this, or we can simply execute your vision if you already have something in mind.

Hardware is the anchor of a perfect set of draperies. The hardware is determined by the level of functionality that is needed. For room-darkening or interlined drapes, a heavy duty rod may be needed. Functioning drapes on a larger window may require a traverse or track system. Let us help you define and fulfill your hardware needs.
